The village of Buriton lies about two miles South of Petersfield on the edge of the South Downs, by the Queen Elizabeth Country Park.
The pond is situated next to the church and they both are are picturesque reminders of times long past. Buriton has a delightful recreation ground with a railway line running alongside and also primary school though no local shop, although one of the two village pubs now incorporates an Indian restaurant.
The area is popular with walkers and cyclists; the Chalk Pits offer an interesting alternative to the usual country trails for walkers.
